<SUB></SUB>, leaving the cursor positioned between the two tags. This tag is usually placed around text that you want to appear subscripted. If there is currently highlighted text in the active edit window, the two tags will surround it, leaving the cursor at the end of the selected text. Below is an example, with the #1 at the end designating a footnote being subscripted:
