    The "Emphasis" button returns the code <EM></EM>, leaving the cursor positioned between the two tags, formatting the text between as emphasized. If there is currently highlighted text in the active edit window, the two tags will surround that text, leaving the cursor at the end of the selected text, inside the last tag. The display of emphasized text varies from browser to browser, but often appears as italicized text. Below is an example of emphasized text:
